For Character Design class we had to make a hero and a villain. This is my villain, Cassandra. She is a gorgon and lives in Greece. I went through many ideas to get to this one, and I had a lot of trouble with it.

For Character Design class we had to make a hero and a villain. This is my hero, Linus. He is a satyr and lives in Greece. I went through many ideas to get to this one but in the end I am very proud of how this turned out.

Bouncing Ball

 

My second animation for school. The guidelines for this assignment were to make a ball bounce into a one-point perspective room through an opening, and the room needed to have a two-point perspective box in it. I enjoyed this project.

Pendulum

My first animation for a project at school. The task was to animate a simple pendulum swinging back and forth with a clock overlay. 

 

25 Expressions Challenge

Our third Drawing Jam for Character Design class was a 25 expression challenge for one of the characters that we created this year so far. I chose my hero, Linus (more of him will be posted in the coming days).

Movement in Life Drawing

 

 

Since I am in school for animation, and my current life drawing instructor was an animator, we are focusing on aspects of that while learning this term. This exercise specifically was a lot of fun: the model did a certain motion continuously for 3 minutes and we drew her at the keys (extremes) and breakdowns. Focusing on action and arcs in this way is really enjoyable.

Exploration #60

 

For our Character Design class our wonderful teacher is getting us to complete exercises from a book called How to be an Explorer of the World. These photos are for Exploration #60: Neighborhood graffiti. If you own the book you might have noticed that there are only 59 explorations in there, but I had noticed so much graffiti on my daily travels here that I really wanted to make my own exploration. I enjoy the variety in all of these designs. COMPLETED
